伊勢（いせ） (late 9th c. - early 10th c.)
A major poet of the early Heian period and the best represented female poet in the first three collections. Her name comes from her father, who was the governor of Ise province. She bore a prince to Emperor Uda and also had relations with other high ranking men. Her poetry collection contains many poem tale-like love exchanges.
