寛平御時后きさいの宮の歌合うたあはせの歌

A poem at the Empress' Poetry Competition in the Kampyō era

友則

Ki no Tomonori

み吉野の山べに咲ける桜花雪かとのみぞあやまたれける

Miyoshino no
yamabe ni sake-ru
sakurabana
yuki ka to nomi zo
ayamatare-keru

On holy Yoshino
Blooming along the mountain
The cherry trees
I can only mistake them
Thinking it is white snow.

Notes

Holy Yoshino
