待てといふに散らでしとまる物ならば何を桜に思ひまさまし

mono nara-ba
nani wo sakura ni
omoi-masa-mashi

If by saying "wait!"
They would stop and remain
Without scattering
We could not think any greater
Of the cherry blossoms.
